Hail protection for polycarbonate greenhouses

Hail can damage polycarbonate panels, roof vents and other exposed greenhouse components within minutes. The greenhouse hail protection system creates an additional protective layer above the greenhouse covering, reducing the direct impact of hailstones on the polycarbonate surface.

The net is installed on metal supports above the greenhouse. This allows hailstones to hit the net before reaching the polycarbonate panels. The raised installation helps protect the greenhouse covering and may reduce the cost of repairs or premature panel replacement.

Galvanised steel support structure

The supporting structure is manufactured from steel tubing with a protective zinc coating. The supports keep the net securely positioned and maintain the required clearance between the hail net and greenhouse covering.

The system is attached directly to the greenhouse frame, eliminating the need for separate freestanding posts around the greenhouse. This compact design occupies less space and does not interfere with normal greenhouse use.

Double-knitted UV-stabilised netting

The dark green hail net is manufactured from UV-stabilised HDPE suitable for outdoor use. Its double-knitted construction improves resistance to tearing and helps distribute impact over a larger surface.

In addition to hail protection, the net provides light shading that may reduce direct solar exposure on hot summer days. However, it does not replace a dedicated shade net when a higher shading percentage is required.

Installation on greenhouses with roof vents is possible when the supports and net dimensions are adapted to the position of the vents. Compatibility with the greenhouse model should be checked before ordering.
